The ability to control both the environment map and area lights using one unified lighting workflow is a totally unique approach and a significant evolution of our software. In fact it’s the biggest update we have ever made” says Mark Segasby, Lightmap CEO. “Our customers love how fast they can block out lighting and adjust it using HDR Light Studio’s interactive HDRI map, and how fast this renders. Use the LightPaint feature to click on the 3D model in the CINEMA 4D viewport to position the lighting effects. This ‘click to light’ process will dramatically speed up the lighting process with precise and perfect final results.

cinema4d_live_blog_launch2

“HDR Light Studio has completely changed the way I work and light my scenes in CINEMA 4D. Using the live plugin for C4D is a real timesaver and it speeds up my workflow a lot. I can now choose between Cinema 4D’s Advanced Render, V-Ray or Maxwell Render and get almost instant feedback on how different materials interact with different lighting setups. I also photograph HDR environments for CG lighting and I love the option to import my own HDRs and very quickly combine them with studio lights or enhance them using other available options inside HDR Light Studio to make the perfect lighting setup.” Frederik Tennholt, Owner/CG artist at Good Monday

HDR Light Studio launches LightWave3D plug-in

HDR Light Studio adds an exciting new way to light your shots in LightWave 3D.

HDR Light Studio - Lightwave3D

Newtek LightWave3D users can now enjoy live lighting sessions with HDR Light Studio – for the real-time creation and editing of HDRI maps with instant feedback in the VPR view.

HDR Light Studio adds an exciting new way to light your shots in LightWave 3D that’s: easy, fast, creative, and produces stunning final results. Simply click on the LightWave viewport, even in VPR mode or an Octane Live view, to position your lights where you want them directly on your shot, with instant visual feedback. This point and click lighting approach will revolutionize your rendering workflow – saving time and improving your renders.

“It’s exciting to see HDR Light Studio go to market with its new Live Connection plug-in for LightWave—the first designed to directly support LightWave’s VPR,” said Rob Powers, president, LightWave 3D Group. “By offering an interactive, real-time lighting tool that takes advantage of the power of the VPR in LightWave, artists are free to easily explore different image-based lighting scenarios.  Image based lighting was a first in LightWave; it creates very realistic and subtle lighting of a scene. HDR Light Studio’s ability to tap into the VPR to extend image-based editing makes it an essential tool for any LightWave artist.”
